Crittenton Hospital Medical Center

Not seen, ignored. No triage and staff talking about lunch during which the waiting room had 6 patients. A man walked in on his own steam 40 minutes after we were there. An employee/friend pulled some strings and he was seen immediately. My daughter was having an allergic reaction. At least should have been given some medication. DO NOT GO THERE. EVER

If you ever recieve a PA named Vanessa Mendez run screaming. Shes mean incompetent and lies because shes lazy. She told my doctor i requested Dilauded and i never did. She walked in the room like she was a warden at a jail. All i wanted was a steriod shot so my flare would stop. Never once did i mention pain medication.

On February 17 I was admitted to emergency for low platelets. No pillows on bed, no one asked if I wanted a blanket or water which I can have. Been in the er before and never had a problem for the same issue. MSN two beds down was it is now 4 asked but never was I. My husband got me a bottle of water from the main lobby. I will be getting admitted and hopefully upstairs will not be poor service. It is now four and a half hours and no room yet. Had husband get us food. Last meal was 6 am you thinks someone would come down and ask. I can have food water it dose not interfere with my platelets

I am so sorry. I've been to that hospital a few times. The attending Dr. Daughtry did the same. You are sick, alone, in pain, etc. I had a male nurse recently, and he said he was giving me nausea and pain med. He did not mention the name of the pain med until he had it pushed completely thru the IV. I started to burn and itch, immediately told him I was allergic. He had told me, I wish you had told me when I gave it to you. News flash...it should have been in my chart, and saying ing"pain med" without the brand name is your fault. He had this attitude that I was not smart enough to logically and professionally correct him or stand up to him, wrong. The story continues, but it was more of being ignored at the request of seeing the nurse, but when he knew I wasn't going to back down, I strongly requested to see the doc. She came in with such an attitude, told me she didn't want to hear what happened in the last 2 hours, and to spit out what I wanted from her. Female doctors have always been such *** there. She curtly left, came back, said the attending would give me another med for the intense pain...called hadrol. I never heard of it, and looked it up right there. Its a psych drug. Since I've been on anti depressants for years.... No way in *** I'm letting this pathetic ER doc give me something to mess with my brain chemistry. She said, that's all you can have and curtly walked away. Then as her uptight *** walked past, I demanded to see the attending. He offered the itching med I'd needed for 2 hours, so I said yes, but no to the idiotic pain med. Then.....the not to upity nurse said I would need my ride (30)minutes away to be there, then I could get the benedryl. After more than 3 hours of their incompetent service, I took my IV out, got dressed and left with my ride. They never came by to check on me. ER staff, especially 3rd shift are the most incompetent, lazy, and impatient employees. You need to understand, they are in Rochester, treating elderly, heart attacks, etc. They have problems with treating and following up with patients who are not wealthy. I will never go there again, nor refer others.

I was a patient in the ER on 2 Jun 2014. I spoke to my doctor, Dr. Yuzon, incoherently over the phone within 30 minutes after my arrival. He asked me if I wanted to be admitted into the psychiatric unit? I said, yes, because I was having a severe psychotic attack due to mania and depression. It took over 16 hours for me to be admitted due to unavailability of a social worker to assess me. I arrived at the hospital at 5 p.m. A social worker should have been available to assess me during that time. In the meantime, I received no medication for my bipolar/schoaffective disorder, restless legs, etc. I have a current list of all medications I take on my person at all times. Within one hour before I was admitted into the psychiatric unit, I did receive an I.V. which I needed due to dehydration. To complicate things, I have an ileostomy, which especially due to stress, I can become severely dehydrated. I should have had an I.V. immediately. I did not receive anything to eat, as well, until about one hour before I was admitted. The thing that burns me up the most, during all that time I was in the E.R., not once did I ever see the attending ER doctor, Dr Dree Daugherty, M.D. although I did ask to see her. I did get some blood work and a urine analysis possibly ordered by her. I did not receive any results of the tests, although I asked, until 36 hours later. I know it does not take 36 hours to get results of CBCs and urine analysis. In addition, I should have been able to see an ostomy womb care nurse before I was admitted into 6 West to insure that my ileostomy was functioning OK. If there was not one available, DR. Daugherty should have at least examined me due my ileostomy and insured that I received my proper medications. She did nothing to help me at all. The biggest complaint I have most of all, is because I was going to be admitted as a psychiatric patient, most E.R. doctors and staff ignore you. This has happened to me more than once not only at this hospital but other hospitals as well! We need the same care and respect as all other patients with medical issues who are in the E.R. Please realize that people with psychiatric issues are often complicated with other medical issues, like myself, and it is the doctor's responsibility over all to insure that people with primary psychiatric issues, at the time when they arrive into the E.R,. are properly and promptly physically and medically examined, including all medical testing, before we are formally admitted to a psychiatric unit for further treatment.

A family friend, 24 years old, went to Crittenton hospital in Rochester MI seeking treatment for a very rapidly growing form of testicular cancer. His cancer has quadrupled in the six weeks since he has been diagnosed. He does not have insurance, but waiting for treatment is not an option. The hospital was very nice, telling him just to worry about getting better and they would worry about the money later. They even helped him fill out medicaid forms, which he should qualify for. He went in and had a testicle removed, then a couple of weeks later, had to start chemo. He went through the first round of chemo in the hospital because the doctor was worried about his kidneys failing. Everything was fine. He is due to start the second round next week and Crittenton decided Monday that they will not treat him anymore unless he pays $2,000 every time he walks in the door. He can not work while he is being treated and does not have money saved up. Testicular cancer is very curable if treated promptly. Crittenton hospital basically gave this young, 24 year old, US citizen, a death sentence. He will die if he is not treated on schedule. Crittenton will get their money, he will qualify for medicaid. The cancer will not wait for the paperwork to go through. I have had two children at Crittenton and go there for everything. I will no longer go to a hospital that hands out death sentences.
